I was born in the rough and tumble East End of post war London in September of 1949. From what I recall, the first seven years of my existence were spent on dairy farms scattered throughout the Essex countryside. In 1956 my family finally decided to pack up all their worldly possessions and set sail to a place called Australia. After completing High School, surviving the sixties, and over 40 years in Business Management in Queensland, I took one deep breath and succumbed to my need to write. I've had a passion for history and poetry for as far back as I can remember, but in the last ten years, the incredible story of this man called Ned Kelly has left me simply spellbound. Not content with just reading about him, I decided to move down to Kelly Country in the North East of Victoria and put pen to paper. The book of verse, Bound For Judgement, is my interpretation of the story of Ned Kelly and his Gang. Not that of four bloodthirsty criminals, but rather of four young Australian men. The second book, Far Beyond the Falls, is my way of escaping to a time of innocence long passed. It's a book of fiction based around two young brothers, whose simple lives collide head on with the unstoppable legend that is Ned Kelly ... I do hope you enjoy them.

Alan is to be commended. He has a passion about Australia’s past and he wants to share it. Even more commendable is that he wants to share it with tomorrow’s generation.People always seem to take sides where bushrangers are concerned. This is particularly so with the Kelly Gang. Some believe Kelly was a murderer, others believe he stood for justice, but there is one thing upon which we all agree – it was part of our history and this past cannot be changed.
